Where we come from
The founders of this company come from ordinary backgrounds in Maharashtra. We studied at universities abroad and came back to the region we are from to build something here.
We started where we had roots. We went to the farmers and producers we already knew, asked what they grow, what they are able to produce and where the opportunity is for them. That is still how a product joins our range: through people we know, in places we know.
The people who grow it
Most products we handle begin with a farmer or an artisan, and the value they add is rarely reflected in what they receive for it. We try our best to buy direct from the source, so we can get the best pricing for our supplier as well as the buyer. We tell them exactly what a destination market requires, so a crop can be grown, handled and prepared to meet it. And we build these relationships to run season after season, because a supply of consistently export worthy goods is created over years and not in a single purchase.
What we do for buyers
For a buyer, we carry the whole route. Sourcing, testing, packing, inspection, documentation, customs and shipping sit with us, and there is one point of contact for all of it. The aim is that a buyer places a second order because the first one arrived as agreed.
Where we are going
India produces an enormous range of goods, and a great deal of it never reaches the buyers who want it, because the route is complicated. Making that route simple is the business.
We are starting with spices and fresh vegetables and widening as our sourcing network grows. The aim is a trading house that a buyer anywhere turns to when they want to trade with India, and that a producer in India turns to when they want to reach the world.
