About this product
Our red chilli comes from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, where the crop is picked from December through March and sun dried in the open. Dried chilli stores well, so supply runs through the year.
After drying, the pods are cleaned and graded, and the stems are cut where stemless material is wanted. Whole pods and ground chilli are both available.
Varieties differ mainly in the balance between colour and heat. Colour strength is quoted on the ASTA scale and pungency on the Scoville scale, both per variety. Tell us which of the two matters more for your use and we will match the variety to it.
